Crickets
Crickets are dark brown to black in color. They range between ½ and 1 inch in length. Crickets live outdoors and feed on grasses, leaves, and weeds. When local food sources dry up (late summer) they often migrate in large numbers and can become a nuisance to homes and businesses. Once inside Crickets are capable of chewing holes in carpets, linens, draperies, and clothes. The chirping “song” of a cricket is produced by the male Cricket rubbing his front wings together. This is done to attract female Crickets for mating.
